Cedric Benson Banned


Cedric Benson and his lawyer David Cornwell expressed numerous objections to three game suspension to the broker in the NFL with an official hearing Harold Henderson on Tuesday a source familiar with the case told ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Benson Henderson considers evidence and arguments, but do not give an indication of when to issue a ruling.

Benson has also filed a complaint does not challenge the application of injuries conduct policy in the NFL at a time when there was a lock, no collective bargaining agreement, no union, and Benson was not an employee of any team. Benson was arrested in July and charged with misdemeanor assault after being involved in an altercation with a former roommate in Austin, Texas.


Benson believes that the interpretation and enforcement of the letter agreement between the next Players Association NFL and the NFL should be resolved either through injury or the complaint by the National Labor Relations Board before a decision can be made the disciplinary appeal.

A source confirmed to ESPN NFL analyst Chris principal Mortensen on Sunday that Benson has filed a charge of unfair labor practices against the NFLPA to the NLRB in connection with the agreement aside the letter.

It was unclear if the league could fine or suspend players who got into trouble in the NFL for four and a half months of blockade, where there was no collective bargaining agreement. The NFLPA was decertified as part of the labor dispute.

On the demand side agreement, the league and the NFLPA agreed finally that eight players (including Benson) could be punished for the incidents in the off season, while 25 others would not.

Benson, who spoke after the Bengals 13-8 'loss on Sunday was not happy with their union officials.

"There were some things in the CBA were not aware that it is really a surprise," said Benson told The Associated Press. "That kind of falls in the (players' association) would think that we are here to support and take back -.. That's what a union does not believe that in my case is different."

Benson was arrested in the summer of 2010 through an alleged fight at a bar in Austin and charged with misdemeanor assault. Benson met with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell after the incident and was not disciplined.

Benson agreed between the parties to resolve cases in 2010 and 2011 the court and spent five days in a Texas jail before this season began.
